


Northland Material Handling Inc. (Formerly Northland Sand & Gravel) was established in 1984 by Mr. James Elliot and Mr. Ernest Hauca, to accommodate a high demand for inert waste disposal in the Edmonton Area. Northland has a permit to operate one of four landfills in the Edmonton and surrounding area. The landfill is located within Parkland County just past the Edmonton city limits on Highway 16A and 231 St. The site yields high quality sand that is sold to the housing and construction industry.
Northland Recycling Inc. was established in 2005 by Rick Caron, when it became one of the first permitted wood recycling facilities in the Edmonton area whereby wood is diverted from the landfill and used for biomass power generation. Over the past few years, Northland Recycling Inc. has added additional recycling initiatives for concrete, asphalt shingles and drywall. The recycling facility is located just past the Edmonton city limits on Highway 16A and 231 St
